Since June of 2001, I have been hosting a monthly acoustic guitar showcase at San Francisco's Bazaar Café. The goal for these shows is to foster a sense of community among the Bay Area's acoustic guitar community, as well as to provide a place for audiences to discover new talent. Every last Wednesday of the month, I ask two guitarists to join me to pick a few tunes in a "round" format, where the three performers take turns playing. The Bazaar Café's intimate surroundings provide the ideal atmosphere to hear true, honest acoustic guitar, as we play without amplification, creating a casual, yet quality listening experience.
The list of performers keeps growing every month, and so far, has included Pat Francis, Stevie Coyle, Henry Kaiser, Dylan Schorer, Jeff Johnson, Pete Madsen, Dale Miller, Steve Baughman, Adam Traum, Andy Markham, Ben Bonham, Tom Long, Eric Schoenberg, Chris Yeaton, Geoff Stewart, Scott Nygaard, Jeffrey Titus, Alan Perlman, Jared Karol, Cas Lucas, Mariah Larkin, Jack Irving, Tom Smith, Chris Grampp, Patrick Landeza, Ben Bonham, Tom Lamson, Jesse P. Cutler & Adam Blomberg Duo, Doug Young, Mark Marabetti, Clarelynn Rose, Ross Thompson, Joe Thibodeau, Teddy Rendazzo Jr., Dan Gabel, Nate Cooper, Danny Click, Vicki Genfan, Erika Luckett, Alan Tower, and others. Styles of music have included original fingerstyle, classical, Brazilian, bluegrass, blues, new age, Celtic, etc., making every single showcase a stunning display of the instrument's versatility.
