PICTURE 1: After the two bookmatched top-halves have been glued together and planed, the guitar's outline is drawn onto the wood. The top will now be cut into its rough shape with a large carving knive. PICTURE 2: This piece of wood will become the neck. Here it is being planed and prepared to have the headstock cut off at an angle so that it can be glued back on facing backwards.

PICTURE 3 (LEFT): Here we can see the neck and the headstock being glued together at an angle. The two wedges put extra pressure on the parts. In the background is the top, as well as the two back halves and the sides, all awaiting more work with the plane.

PICTURE 4 (ABOVE): The neck block is glued onto the raw neck and held in place with rope. Once again, wedges provide additional clamping pressure.
